Graham Browne, Special Assistant at the Education Equity Project, on UES

October 31, 2010

Graham Browne, an Urban Education Semester alum, gives a shout-out to the program in an interview with edReformer:

“When I was a junior at Brown University, I participated in a program called the Urban Education Semester. I spent that semester “abroad” in New York City, teaching fifth grade alongside a dynamic, experienced teacher and taking urban education policy and pedagogy courses at Bank Street College. It was the most important four months of my life. Seeing the challenges that urban schools face everyday motivated me to work to address our nation’s systemic inability to deliver a quality education to every child.”
