Wondering whether it’s time to get out of snowy Prov?

February 1, 2011

I’m sure a lot of you have been struggling to clamber over snowbanks and slip on unshoveled roads as you get to class in the mornings.  Winter blues getting to you? Sophomore slump setting in? Not at the CRC! We’re already looking forward, and wanted to let you know that deadline for applying to UES for Fall of 2011 is March 21.  (And, unlike Brown, New York City Schools occasionally have snow days.)

For those of you who haven’t yet heard of it, UES, or the Urban Education Semester, is an amazing semester-long program in New York, where you get full credit for working in an urban school or education policy setting while taking graduate-level classes at Bank Street school of education.  If you’re feeling like you need a way to make your learning experience more involved, impactful, and community oriented, you should definitely check out our website, http://www.urbanedsemester.org, or find us on facebook (Urban Education Semester).

We’ll keep you posted about info sessions and events, but if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email ues@brown.edu. And I’m always excited to talk to people who wander in and out of the CRC, so feel free to stop by with questions, or just to say hello!  Just ask for Amina (that’s me!) or say you’re interested in UES.

Peace,
-a
